Summer houses both kids and grownups will love
Highlights and descriptions have been auto-translated from Danish
Close to Rørvig Beach on a large, secluded natural plot is "Pastorens Hus" - an architect-designed holiday home that appeals to tranquillity and contemplation. Here you can let yourself be embraced by the simple and light interior design and at the same time feel at home in the warm atmosphere of the rooms. The light is special all year round, and the large windows in the living room provide a soothing view of the garden, creating a pleasant closeness to nature. The interior design is stylish and you'll quickly notice the Japanese inspiration in the simplicity and honest materials. The soft natural colors and personal details add warmth to the rooms. The house offers a small but well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a living room with dining area and two bedrooms - one with a bunk bed ideal for children and one with a double bed and direct access to the garden. To the south and west, a large wooden terrace awaits you, where you can enjoy your morning coffee, relax in the sun, and gather under the parasol for dinner while the wild nature surrounds you. To the east you'll find a small courtyard where you can enjoy a secluded bath under the outdoor shower, and to the north there are swings and a badminton court where you can challenge each other with the racket in a true holiday competition. The area offers many experiences. Try catching fish and crabs at Rørvig Harbor, taste ice cream at Lodsoldermandgården, visit Kunsthal Brantebjerggård or take a trip to Højsandet, Nakkehage Strand and Sandflugtsplantagen.
Mikkel & Sara
Host since September 2023
We are Sara and Mikkel, graphic designer and architect respectively. We love spending time in our summer house, where we can get close to nature and enjoy the beautiful light. We love the area's many possibilities, from Nakke village with the beach and bird sanctuary towards the fjord to Odden and Lillero at Høve Strand on the way to Dragsholm Castle, and we love life at Rørvig Harbor. We visit Kunsthal Brantebjerggård frequently during the season, and we spend a lot of time in Sandflugtsplantagen and the beautiful nature at Flyndersø, Dybesø, Korshage and Skansehage. The house was designed by Danish architect Holger Jensen in 1976. Holger Jensen was a student of Alvar Aalto, Mies van der Rohe and Frank Lloyd Wright during his time at MIT. He is known as the Danish architect who has designed and built the most churches. The Pastor's House was originally built for the pastor of one of these churches. He drew inspiration from his travels to Japan, which is reflected in the simplicity and honest materials of the house, which we appreciate. We hope you will enjoy our vacation home as much as we do.
