Our cabin at Vågslid was completed in summer 2017. It is a meeting point and gathering place for children, grandchildren and friends. The cabin is frequently used on weekends, during vacations and on the way to and from visits in Eastern Norway, and since we retired, we have also used the cabin on weekdays when the opportunity arises. We enjoy life in and around the cabin and the beautiful hiking opportunities the surroundings offer all year round.
Vågslid, and the surrounding area, offers many opportunities where you can enjoy both short walks in the immediate area around the cabin (especially suitable when you have small children in the family), and longer day trips to nice hiking destinations in summer and winter. Vågslidvatnet lake offers great opportunities for canoeing, fishing and swimming in the summer. For those who want to combine winter skiing with alpine skiing or snowboarding, Haukelifjell Skisenter is just a few minutes by car from the cabin. I can only pass on my absolute best recommendation for this stunningly beautiful and enormously cozy house located in the most wonderful surroundings. We were 2 families (10 people) away for 5 days and enjoyed every moment, cozying up in the house in front of the fireplace, cross country skiing right outside the door and downhill skiing nearby.
The house offered everything we needed and more, especially the fantastic beds that were hard to get out of in the morning..
We dream of another stay next winter ....
