Winter-friendly summer houses
Summer houses perfect for cold winters
63 m²
In the authentic holiday town of Rørvig, you'll find a small oasis, perfect for the couple or the small family that loves togetherness. Here life is to be lived, even when you can't be outside, which is why we have made a virtue of merging indoor and outdoor life. The house is small, but allows you to be close to each other in a cozy and relaxing environment.
The heart of the house consists of a kitchen family room where you can enjoy the nature that is just outside the large panoramic windows, whether you sit on the sofa in front of the wood-burning stove or at the dining table. There's plenty of cooking in this cottage, which is evident in the kitchen, which is well-equipped with far more than you'd normally expect from a cottage kitchen. You'll find everything from copper pots and delicious steak knives to a large selection of spices, both dried and fresh - if the deer haven't discovered them first. The decor is French country style with a twist, where everything has a history and has been lovingly collected over the years. It creates a very special atmosphere with useful art and flea market finds in rustic shapes and casts. The house has two bedrooms; one with a double bed and direct access to the west-facing terrace, and one with two single beds that can be pulled apart if desired. The house has everything you need, no more and no less.
The large staircase connected to the wooden terrace also serves as the perfect place to enjoy an ice-cold glass of rosé and hang out on the large cushions when the sun is at its highest in the sky. The garden is intentionally wild, with grass paths that meander around the large grounds. Here you can explore the nooks and crannies of the garden, where you can gather around an outdoor shower or fire pit. The plot is not suitable for ball games or the like, but rather for contemplation, slowing down and enjoying the abundant wildlife up close. So if you like nature, this cottage is ideal for a down-to-earth get-away.
Rørvig offers great places to eat, a harbor environment and a cozy pedestrian street. In high season, there are also many flea markets and local farm shops with fresh produce, and during Pentecost many artists gather to exhibit their work. Take your bike and explore the rolling fields and green forests before you reach a spot where you can glimpse the fjord, close to a small café with homemade pies and freshly brewed coffee. With a liberating sense of peace and beauty, you can take the long route to the bird sanctuary in Hov Vig Vig, where you can see a white-tailed eagle and get a blush on your cheeks. You are welcome to bring your dog, however, the garden is not fenced.

We are a married couple in our 50s who just love life in Rørvig. The summer house is our sanctuary and the place where we find peace. We have rebuilt the house from A to Z with all the love we could muster and every little thing in the house has a story. The garden is intentionally wild and the wildlife that comes with it is absolutely stunning. We really enjoy the large terrace that goes all the way around the house, from the first cup of coffee in the morning when the birds wake us up with their song, to the late evening when the dragonflies chirp one last time before the bats go hunting and we go to bed.
Besides all the obvious things like the great restaurants, cafés, harbor life, pedestrian streets, forests and beaches in the area, the surrounding area is also great for finding special things you didn't know you were missing. From Easter to the fall holidays, there are flea markets in both Vig and Rørvig, as well as interesting shops like 'Den gode butik', 'Frou-Frou' and 'Anno 1808'. There are also many local farms in the area where you can shop for everything from fruit and vegetables to fish, meat and even desserts, such as Sidinge Gårdbutik, Dalsbakkegård, Lammefjordens Spisekammer and Brogården. Art and nature are undeniably linked to Odsherred, so especially during Pentecost there are lots of artists exhibiting everywhere. Not far from the cottage is also the Hov Vig bird sanctuary.

Absolutely stunning cottage both inside and out. The kitchen is the heart of the house, but every choice has been carefully considered. Cozy and charming inside and plenty of great seating outside.
