My name is Olav, and together we are a family of five who enjoy the cabin together whenever we have the opportunity. When we're at the cabin, we get both young and old involved in both skiing and swimming right outside the cabin, and one of our favorite things about being here is being exposed to untouched high mountain nature in all seasons. It's easy to let your guard down and it's a short way to escape the everyday routine.
The cross-country skiing trail starts just 15 m from the cabin wall, so there are plenty of ski trips in winter. It's about 1 km to Veggli Fjellstue, which offers food and drink and is a perfect destination for the family's youngest skiers. It's also only 4 minutes by car to Vegglifjell Skisenter, where there is a ski lift where we can ski downhill. When the snow disappears, it's just a short walk to get above the tree line and up onto the high mountain plateau where there are great trails connected to Hardangervidda. There is also a great swimming spot in the lake right outside the cabin.
