Traditional and cosy summer house for the whole family

Vejby, Denmark

Highlights and descriptions have been auto-translated from Danish

Highlights from Casper & Sofie

  1. The wild nature ground is unique in the area and the garden has old trees and a small birch grove with a fireplace
  2. The primitive style of the house really makes you feel far away from everyday life - it feels like when you were a child and were in grandma's summer house
  3. The lovely area with only 4 minutes walk to own beach stairs and fishmonger is wonderful

The summer house is a classic house with black painted log cabin boards and white window frames, and the annex is built in the same classic way. Inside, there is a lovely living room with space for the whole family - here you can cosy up in front of the fireplace or sit out in the conservatory, where you can look out to the whole garden through the fine windows. The traditional grandmotherly style of the house will put any visitor right at ease and is reminiscent of childhood, summer and security. In winter, the wood-burning stove is the only source of heat. In the garden you will find the shed with toys and the annex of the house with two beds and a work table. The inside of the house is usable and functional, but it is outside that you will find the wonderful wild garden with old, beautiful trees. This is where the summer days fly by.

Meet your host

Casper & Sofie

Host since May 2021

We are a family of 4: Casper and Sofie and our girl Eddy at 7 and little brother Herbert at 4. We have been living in India for the last several years, and before that we lived in Christianshavn. Sofie works in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and I work as an actor. After our return to Denmark, we settled in North Zealand. When we go on holiday, we actually just love spending time in the holiday home itself. It's our own little bubble. There are a lot of traditions associated with our stay here. The local fishmonger is a regular feature. Our private beach staircase leading down to an unspoilt beach is also always on the agenda. Heaterhills hosts many walks and plays in the beautiful countryside. Tisvilde provides breakfast bread. I use Tisvilde Hegn and Asserbo Plantage extensively for challenging mountain bike rides, as here you will find some of Denmark's best trails for all levels. There are also a number of visitor farms in the area, which the kids love.
