Summer houses both kids and grownups will love
Highlights and descriptions have been auto-translated from Danish
Right between Tisvildeleje beach and the Heather Hill nature reserve, you'll find this stunning cottage gem designed in the style of the Louisiana Museum by a Danish architect in the 1960s. Large panoramic windows stretch along one side of the house so you can beautifully watch the deer visiting in the morning and the sun setting behind the trees in the evening. The summer house is decorated with a modern Scandinavian aesthetic that harmonizes with the house's distinctive bungalow architecture of straight lines, wood and brick. It provides a stylish, yet cosy and welcoming atmosphere with the rustic charm and original details preserved. The kitchen and living room are open plan, divided only by a fireplace in the middle. On cooler days and evenings, it is the focal point of the living room where you can cozy up with a book or board game and listen to vinyls on the turntable. Around two sides of the house you'll find a lovely wooden terrace, partially covered so you can use it in all weathers. The garden is inviting with its large lawn with sun all day and plenty of space to play ball and badminton or jump on the trampoline. The rest of the garden is allowed to grow wild, so you can feel nature in the grounds. Just 200 metres from the house you will find a stunning new beach staircase from which to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. At the end of the stairs is the beautiful Holløselund Beach with its characteristic breakers.
Victor & Mille
Host since February 2022
Our names are Mille and Victor and we live north of Copenhagen. We enjoy taking trips up to the cottage on weekends and holidays with our two children. When we bought the house six years ago, it was something of a craftsman's bargain and we set out to fix it up respecting the original 60's look that we both love. We enjoy that the house is so close to the water and that it is a quiet and relaxed area - while you can be in Tisvilde with all its shops and eateries in 10 minutes. We love the different beaches - from Heather Hill to Asserbo, the amazing Tisvilde Hegn and the landscape of Tibirke Bakker. We go running in the woods all year round and mushroom picking in the autumn, when we also love cycling around the area and shopping at everything from our local fishmonger, Den Friske Fisk just around the corner, to all the local farm shops in the area. The Tisvilde flea market on Saturdays is a regular ritual, and there are plenty of flea markets on farms around the area. We enjoy ending the day with a drink on Hotel Helenekilde's terrace overlooking the Kattegat, and watching the spectacular sunsets from the beach steps at our cottage.
