Summer houses both kids and grownups will love
87 m²
From the road you are led along the wooden terrace around the house. Here you meet in the secluded backyard, where the terrace is built on several levels so that it blends beautifully into the hilly landscape. Surrounded by the trees, natural garden with flower meadow and the view of the sea in three different directions, you can safely sit back and let all everyday thoughts settle for a while.
With a helping hand or two, the hosts themselves have designed and built the longhouse with natural materials out of respect for the surrounding nature. The house is kept in a minimalist style both inside and out to keep the focus on the view and the idyllic surroundings. The dogma has been that the decor should be made up of flea market finds, so the sanctuary exudes coziness and soul.
Just outside the house you will find hiking trails in the protected Natura 2000 area of between three and 25 kilometers. If you head for the beach, you can take a morning dip at the private jetty or you can hop on your bike and experience Røsnæs Lighthouse, sail a short trip to Samsø or enjoy a lunch in Kalundborg's cozy town center. If you are into golf, the cottage is located almost in the middle of a golf course, and you can hear a click in the distance when the ball is hit just right. As the icing on the cake, you also have a vineyard next door, where you can taste some good wine or buy a bottle to take home for the warm evenings on the terrace.

My better half, Mona, was born and raised in the area, after which we met in Copenhagen. I, Niels, immediately fell in love with both Mona and her hometown, where the nature is fantastic and quite unique. Now we live north of Copenhagen, but by chance we got the opportunity to buy the building plot, which for the last 60 years has been a small forest valley.
Due to the area's clayey subsoil, there was a disused factory a few kilometers away. Here, clay was dug out of the landscape and transported back in small tippers. Hence the name of our road, The Dam. Our land was the last place clay was dug out before they closed down, leaving a small valley in the area. With my background as an engineer, I had an idea that it could be a great natural site for a holiday home to be built from natural materials. We therefore designed and built the house ourselves with the help of architects, authorized craftsmen and carpenters.
We love our cottage, the fantastic area and everything it has to offer, and we would like to share it with like-minded people who also love nature and the modern conveniences we have furnished the house with.
