At the foot of Jernhatten and with panoramic views of the Kattegat and Hjelm you can enjoy a fantastic sanctuary. Here you are located right in the middle of one of the country's most beautiful natural areas and surrounded by light, presence and exclusivity. For the last 10 years, the old mill farm has been uninhabited, but after a loving renovation with respect for history and focus on sustainability and good materials, you can once again enjoy the fantastic and historic place. Here is furnished with a large living room with exposed rafters for kip and from the functional and beautiful kitchen there is a direct view to the water. In the kitchen, there is everything the skilled food enthusiast needs to create dining experiences that the family can gather around. There is both a bathroom and a small toilet, and the sleeping accommodation is divided into three bedrooms with two double beds and two single beds, so there is plenty of space for six sleeping guests. The large windows welcome nature inside, and when the doors open there are only a few steps to the beach and the sea around Havmøllen. The offshore wind farm was built in 1677 and with its scenic location at one of Djursland's most visited nature areas by Jernhatten, it has been a well-visited place. The farm's exciting buildings and natural access road from Jernhatten to the fortifications have attracted many people, and the place has in its time also been a cultural meeting place for the local area. Here the farmers could have their grain ground. After the mill was stopped in 1875, the farm has functioned as an agricultural property, and is now used to welcome guests to a place where communal dining, culture, art and environment are the main elements.

Meet your host

Daniel, Sofie & Anna

We are Sofie, Daniel and Anna, and we are the team behind Havmøllen. The place here is our joint project and we went into the air with the idea and concept in 2021. We are a team with different competencies and roles that work together to ensure that the place's various elements and projects harmonize and play well together. In everyday life, you meet a permanent team of employees and local actors who create life and movement on site. They are the ones who help get things running. We believe in community, sustainability and quality of life in the countryside and in nature. We love communal dining and always offer that our guests can join in the dinners. Of course we love the area, nature and culture that can be found at Jernhatten on Djursland. The offshore wind turbine is located in Mols Bjerge National Park, so all the best that Djursland has to offer is within easy reach. You can take a trip to Ebeltoft Gårdbryggeri, take the children to Ree Safari Park or visit some of the many nature and cultural experiences that the area has.
