On a 3500 square metre nature plot in the middle of the Mols Bjerge National Park lies this fantastic log cabin built from whole 'laftømmer' from the Norwegian forests. Unique nature surrounds the cosy house, where you can enjoy the idyllic view over Ebeltoft Vig and take a walk down to the beach. The focal point of the cosy 120 square metre log house is the open plan kitchen and dining area, which has recently been updated with a new cooker and dishwasher. There's plenty of seating for 6 at the rustic dining table, but you can easily seat as many as 10. In this room is the house's second wood-burning stove, which creates a cosy atmosphere especially in the winter months when the snow falls outside. From the kitchen there is access to the house's east-facing terrace, where you can enjoy your morning coffee and the stunning view of Ebeltoft Vig. If you light up under the fire in the evening, the terrace is also great for a drink before dinner. The living room has a soft sofa and a couple of lovely armchairs, which you can sink into while snuggling up by one of the house's two wood-burning stoves. From the living room you have access to the main bedroom. There are also two smaller bedrooms, all with a tranquil feel with their warm wood beams and cosy, simple décor. From the living room, double doors lead out onto a stunning south-west facing terrace, where lovely Skagerak sea furniture and sun loungers provide a great vantage point for watching the deer pass by in the unspoilt countryside. There's also an outdoor kitchen with a gas barbecue and a small gas fire, so there's plenty of opportunity to cook al fresco while watching nature - as well as a lovely outdoor shower. The spacious, cosy loft of the house is ideal for children to play and have fun. Here you will also find mattresses to match the sun beds outside. On the large natural plot there is also a lovely fireplace where you can create lots of memories together under the stars in the glow of the flames. In addition to Fuglsø Beach, the beach at Strands is only about five kilometres from the house and is also lovely. It is well suited for families with small children as it is very shallow. Ebeltoft, which is close by, is one of Denmark's most idyllic villages with a wealth of museums and small, fine shops.

Lisbeth & Niels

Host since March 2022

Our name is Niels and Lisbeth and we have owned this beautiful, original Norwegian log house in Fuglsø on Mols for 30 years. The original house was built in 1965 and in 2004 we found the sawmill that used to make our cottage. With the help of an elderly Norwegian architect living here, we designed and "laftet" the extension to the house. Over the years, we have decorated the house as a "real" country living style cottage, and we enjoy paying attention to detail. Fuglsø is located in the Mols Bjerge National Park, a unique nature area with many beautiful hiking trails. A short distance from the house - about one and a half kilometres - is Fuglsø beach with a swimming bridge, views of Ebeltoft and the most beautiful water. We love to visit Fuglsø Bed & Breakfast, which in summer often serves lunch in their small café, Café Fuglsø. Not far from the house is also Molskroen, where you can enjoy world-class food, and we also love the brasseries at Strandhotellet opposite Molskroen, which has a wonderful menu. There is also a large ice cream parlour near the hotel, almost directly on the beach and with the most beautiful view of Ebeltoft town. Don't forget to visit the frigate Jylland or the Danish Glass Museum.
