Daisy: A new visual way to search on Landfolk

If you can dream it, you can book it! Let’s introduce you to Daisy — a new visual way to search for your dream stay.

At Landfolk, we believe that the travel industry has been overly focused on facts and amenities for far too many years. That's why we're extremely proud to introduce Daisy — a groundbreaking visual search engine in the travel industry, designed specifically for holiday homes.

With Daisy, users can search for any emotion, vibe or dream — whether it's "cozy cabin by the lake" or "seaside escape with sunset views" — and immediately explore a stunning array of photos that match their vision. Each photo is tied to a bookable holiday home, and clicking on any photo will surface complementary photos, allowing for endless discovery. It’s as simple and intuitive as Pinterest, yet designed to make vacation dreams a reality.

Unlocking opportunities beyond search

Our ambition with Daisy is to revolutionize how users search for and book unique holiday homes for their next Landfolk stay. Today marks the launch of pioneering a new way to search, however, there's still some way to go before users can include specific dates, amenities or locations in their search query.

In the long term, we plan to layer in factual search capabilities by integrating with our product data. But for now, we’re launching Daisy to see how people use it, and to understand where it fits in their journey of finding a holiday home.

But more than that, Daisy also unlocks an array of other opportunities, predicts Chris Sorensen, co-founder and CTO at Landfolk.

As we move forward, we’ll use this ML foundation to refine and enhance the discovery and booking experience further — like identifying the best seasonal cover photos or even curating unique collections of homes. But we also believe this technology will help us internally, making it easier to acquire new homes that align with Landfolk’s unique vibe and sort images according to customer preferences.
