Getaway on Eiderstedt: Minimalistic appartement under thatch

The small picture-book village of Tetenbüll is located on the North Sea peninsula of Eiderstedt. located 15 minutes from Sankt Peter-Ording, a good hour from Hamburg and an hour south of the Danish border, you will experience a picturesque village idyll here.
Your vacation home is located on a so-called terp, a hill to protect against storm surges, together with other apartments in a former pastorate built in 1780 and renovated in 2018. The thatched roof, red brick and white lattice windows promise an enchanting time-out as soon as you arrive, as does the beautiful garden.
The 1-room apartment would probably be described as "lütt", or small, in the region. And it is as "lütt" as it is charming. Consisting of a small hallway, a living room and bedroom and a modern bathroom with handmade Moroccan cement tiles, you will find a sofa with pull-out function and a dining table as well as a well-equipped kitchenette in the main room. Your temporary home is decorated in shades of white and features warm wooden elements. Minimalism paired with airy lightness give it a purist, cozy atmosphere in which you can spend wonderfully relaxing hours with a cup of tea and a good book.
Outside, a park-like garden with a pond and a romantic view of St. Anne's Church awaits you. In addition to exploring the village with its historic merchant's store, a trip to the Westerhever lighthouse or to the Tetenbüllerspieker bathing area 4 km away is well worthwhile.
Important note: We love thatched-roof vacation homes - when dealing with fire and electricity, we ask guests to ensure that the thatched roof is not exposed to any risk of fire. You will receive more detailed instructions from your host.

Highlights from Christoph
Host since July 2023
- The listed thatched-roof house is a highlight of the village and exudes a very special, historic charm
- The bright, minimalist design and wooden furniture give the apartment a purist style with Scandinavian flair
- The extensive grounds with mature trees and greenery as far as the eye can see create unforgettable moments in nature
As a large Viennese family, we fell madly in love with the North Sea during our time in Hamburg. By a lucky coincidence, we were able to acquire the former pastorate, one of the most beautiful houses on the Eiderstedt peninsula, in 2017 and save the listed building from decay. In this way, we have created a permanent anchor in the north. In 2018, we painstakingly and carefully renovated our old Frisian longhouse under the expert supervision of the conservation authorities and created three vacation apartments. We have turned the house into a private retreat on the North Sea, incorporating the highest quality and many personal details so that our guests feel as comfortable here as we do.

The location is great, very calm beautiful village and the apartment is spacious enough to host us as a couple plus we even had a dog with us. Also the kitchen and bathroom are very modern and you find everything you need. There are a few improvement potentials, such as the kitchen and bath soap were nearly empty when we arrived, the outdoor sitting area was very dirty so that we needed to find a broom first to clean it a bit. Also there were no seating cushions or similar for outside, so that this area was not as used by us as we would have liked to. Apart from that we had a large group of people as our neighbours in the bigger apartment next door, which was quite noisy. Overall nice experience though and Christoph was very responsive.
