When we're on our way to the cabin, the mood and anticipation are always high - what kind of experiences will the next few days bring? For us, cabin life is all about good food and drink, which is why the cabin has a well-equipped kitchen with a spacious kitchen island, fire pit and outdoor fireplace, so there are plenty of opportunities for cooking.
After a skiing trip, enjoying the warmth of the fire, or the sauna, is wonderful. We enjoy all the great ski trails for half the year and the rest of the year we go for short, long, easy and more challenging trips and those who want a challenge can climb to the top of Spåtind. We also like to use the cabin trip to read books or play board games together. The magical views, both inside and out, mean that you really don't need to go anywhere when you're at the cabin.
There are many fantastic walks in the area and lots of different terrain, ski slopes and grounds for magical experiences together. There's also a ski lift just 20 minutes away, and the big alpine slopes in Valdres are not far away.
We usually leave the car and use the mountain locally. The cabin is located at 1026 meters above sea level and just 400 meters higher is Spåtind on the mountain massif Synnfjell with fantastic views of famous mountain peaks in six counties.
