The beautiful holiday home is a so-called low impact house, designed to leave a minimal footprint on its surroundings. The cottage is mainly built in exclusive Douglas fir from Denmark. Outside, you'll be greeted by rough planed planks that can withstand the elements, while the fine sanded and oiled planks and flooring from Dinesen give a softer and warmer impression in the large, open family room inside. Sink into the deep armchairs, face the nature outside the large glass windows and enjoy the absence of unnecessary visual noise to distract your gaze.
You can go for long walks in Vollerup Forest or by the beach, which is just a few minutes' walk from the cottage. Walk along the paths and look for hedgehogs, salamanders and toads in the scrub and ponds, or spot fallow deer and hares leaping across the open spaces. Vollerup Strand is also a great place to pull on a pair of waders and cast your line for a silver sea trout. In the evening you can retire to the simple bedrooms in the cottage, or sit outside and enjoy the area's minimal light pollution while you look for shooting stars in the night sky.

Our names are Line and Christoffer and together we have Helmut. Our holiday home was designed by architect Thomas Høyer and built by Line's father (who is a master carpenter) in collaboration with Line and Christoffer. The cottage is built as a low impact cottage, and we have tried to minimize our carbon footprint in all choices of materials and construction methods. For example, the cottage is built on piles to save on the concrete foundation and protect the home that the animals have made for themselves in the nature on our property before we arrived.
We are both old scouts and love being in nature. The summer house is our little sanctuary where we can get a break from the busy life in the city. Christoffer loves fishing, so he often goes down to the water and throws a line into the sea. We also go for walks in Vollerup Forest, where there is a rich wildlife, edible mushrooms and a shelter with space for overnight stays and campfires.
If we're going on a longer trip, we like to drive out to Røsnæs to the old lighthouse, where you can look all the way to Samsø and have a cup of coffee while petting a goat. We have also spent many hours at Røsnæs Harbour, where a modern harbor bath with public sauna and changing rooms has been built. A little gem if you're into winter swimming and saunagus. If we need a good lunch, we always drive to Asgers Fisk in Kalundborg and buy delicious smoked products and fish plates with remoulade.

Until 30 days before the agreed time of arrival, you can cancel for a 50% refund. If you cancel less than 30 days before the agreed time of arrival you will not be refunded.
