Rustic aesthetics in the middle of Thy's raw and dramatic nature

In the small village of Vang on the edge of beautiful Thy National Park, you'll find this unique stone house from 1924. Originally a soap house, the house is full of soul and history, which can be felt in every room. Surrounded by the characteristic wind-blown trees of the West Coast, there is room for a small family or a couple who want to enjoy the togetherness of the rustic and personal interior design.
The house has a very special atmosphere, where the raw and patinated furniture creates an aesthetic setting for the rooms. The decor is a wonderful mix of traditional Swedish country style and French industrial vintage with interiors hand-picked from around Europe. Gather in the cozy nook with the beautiful brown Chesterfield sofa, light up the fireplace or immerse yourself in a creative project around the dining table. From the small, nostalgic kitchen, there's a nice view into the living room through the barred window.
The garden is open and sunny with trees and shrubs on one side. On the large, beautiful tiled terrace, there is room to gather around the romantic café table, while the grass invites your four-legged friends to play freely. From the house, it's not far to the popular Cold Hawaii/Klitmøller, where you can watch the surfers ride the big waves. Take scenic walks by Vangså and Bøgsted Rende, or enjoy the fantastic view from the top of Lodbjerg Lighthouse.

Highlights from Elisabeth
Host since May 2023
- Feel the raw and historic atmosphere in the old soap house from 1924
- Get comfortable in the aesthetic decor with a rustic feel
- Be surrounded by the unique, wild and unspoiled nature of the West Coast
My name is Elisabeth and this is my lovely summer house. I am originally a visual artist and now a psychologist with many years of practice. Half of the year I live in Australia, where my boyfriend is from, but I love Thy. I grew up here in the smithy right across from the old dairy. People here are down-to-earth, curious, have a subtle sense of humor and take pride in being helpful and welcoming. Here, surrounded by the harsh, windswept nature, my soul is at peace. I hope to be able to share that experience now.
The house is from 1901, and I have renovated it myself with great respect for the original architecture and building style and have therefore only used good natural materials. In the interior design, I have created exactly the atmosphere I have dreamed of and love to surround myself with. When I'm here, I love walking through Kronens Hede Plantage, which extends to the dune heath and the North Sea. I also enjoy a nice bike ride through the forest to Klitmøller, where there are many good restaurants. If I want to get away from the crowds at Klitmøller Strand in the summer, I just go a kilometer further down the coast, where you can almost have it all to yourself.
