In the small village of Vang on the edge of beautiful Thy National Park lies this unique stone house from 1924. Originally a soap house, the house is filled with soul and history that can be felt in every room. Surrounded by the West Coast's characteristic wind-blown trees, there's room for a small family or a couple who want to enjoy the togetherness of the rustic and personal interior.
The house has a very special atmosphere, where the raw and patinated furniture creates a complete aesthetic frame around the rooms. The decor is a wonderful mix of traditional Swedish country style and French industrial vintage with interiors handpicked from around Europe. Gather in the cozy nook with the beautiful brown Chesterfield sofa, light the fireplace or immerse yourself in a creative project around the dining table. From the small, nostalgic kitchen, there's a lovely view into the living room through the mullioned window.
The garden is open and sunny with trees and shrubs on one side. On the large, beautiful tiled terrace, there is space to gather around the romantic café table, while the grass invites your four-legged friends to play freely. The popular Cold Hawaii/Klitmøller, where you can watch surfers ride the big waves, is not far from the house. Take scenic walks at Vangså and Bøgsted Rende, or enjoy the fantastic view from the top of Lodbjerg Lighthouse.

Highlights from Elisabeth
Host since May 2023
Feel the raw and historic atmosphere of the old soap house from 1924
Settle into the aesthetic decor with a rustic feel
Surround yourself with the unique, wild and unspoiled nature of the West Coast
My name is Elisabeth and this is my lovely summer house. I am originally a visual artist and now a psychologist with many years of practice. Half of the year I live in Australia, where my boyfriend is from, but I love Thy. I grew up here in the smithy just opposite the old dairy. People here are down to earth, curious, have a subtle sense of humor and take pride in being helpful and welcoming. Here, surrounded by the harsh, windswept nature, my soul calms down. I now hope to be able to share that experience.
The house dates from 1901 and I renovated it myself with great respect for the original architecture and building style, using only good natural materials. In the interior design, I have created exactly the atmosphere I have dreamed of and love to surround myself with. When I'm here, I love to walk through Kronens Hede Plantage, which stretches to the dunes and the North Sea. I also enjoy a nice bike ride through the forest to Klitmøller, where there are many good restaurants. If I want to get away from the crowds at Klitmøller Beach in the summer, I just head a kilometer further down the coast where you can almost have it all to yourself.

I considered writing that I cannot recommend the house, but I will just say that I cannot recommend it if you want to stay in it a lot and in the cold months. There are many positive things to say, such as nice towels and made beds and a beautiful bouquet of flowers put on the table. So we felt welcome. Most photos of the house are very similar, but the view from the living room is sad. It is towards a metal/ tin building next door. I would also not recommend this house in March or winter months. The living room was nicely heated by heat pump when we arrived and there was firewood ready for the stove. That way we quickly got heat in the kitchen and room as well. But the bathroom is difficult to heat with the electric radiator and a very humid air there and in the kitchen. I don't think the price matches the house. At the relatively high price I expect more.
