My name is Merethe, and this wonderful cabin on Golsfjellet has become my sanctuary. I love coming here with my two grown-up children to spend quality time with them. At the cabin, I really find peace and quiet by looking out at the mountains of Hemsedal and the peaks of Jotunheimen while firing up the fireplace. I can't wait for you to experience the same feeling.
I recommend that you take some fantastic skiing or hiking trips in the area. There are plenty of peaks to climb and slopes to explore. Head to Gol town center if you want to experience something different, where you'll find both a shopping center and services.
For those who like to fish:
The cabin is located in the middle of an eldorado of small fishing lakes, rivers and medium-sized fjords. If you drive 45 minutes northwest, you'll reach Hemsedal and Hemsila, which is considered one of Norway's best trout rivers. If you drive 30 minutes east, you'll find Aurdalsfjorden, Dokkafjorden, Strandefjorden and Føyafjorden. In the area where the mountain plateau is located, you can fish in the river Tisleia, which flows eastwards and down towards Aurdal. Storfjorden and Storevatn are also good fishing waters, and there are also small lakes within walking distance on Nystølsfjellet that are rich in fish.
