Traditional thatched house with modern accents on Schwansen
Kappeln
Holiday home
140 m²
Up to 6 guests
3 bedrooms
Between the Baltic Sea and the Schlei, on the Schwansen peninsula, lies the thatched house of Nina and Kersten, which was built around 1730 and renovated in 2014 and equipped with two vacation apartments. Traditional building elements were preserved and combined with modern equipment and lovingly selected furniture. Each room has its own color mood and thus an individual character.
The large open living room with wooden floorboards houses a well-equipped kitchen with dining table and a cozy sofa corner. Even in winter and in bad weather, a wood-burning stove provides cozy warmth throughout the house. Upstairs, the apartment has three bedrooms, each equipped with a 160x200 cm double bed. On request, 1-2 cribs or additional mattresses can be provided.
The modernized bathroom is equipped with a large bathtub and a sauna, where you can relax and unwind.
There is also a lounge area in the top floor, which is especially popular with children. With a morning cup of coffee on the spacious veranda, the view can wander into the spacious garden with its old trees.
The house is a perfect starting point for numerous cycling tours.
Only 3 km away is the small village of Kopperby with its direct location on the Schlei. The Baltic Sea can also be reached by bike. Enjoy long summer days directly at the sea - either at the beach of Schönhagen, 5 km away, or during a walk at the nearby steep coast.

I am Nina and together with my husband Kersten I have transformed our thatched house on the Schwansen peninsula, built in 1730, into a place of well-being for our vacation guests. As an architect, I was able to design the house exactly the way we like it. We took care to preserve the old and combine it with the new. Here, between the Baltic Sea and the Schlei, not only we but also our guests find relaxation, family life and a happy vacation time.
