We're a family of two adults and two children who on weekends and holidays swap city life in Vesterbro for the tranquility of nature in our lovely holiday home.
The house is our sanctuary where we can enjoy the silence and nature, do creative projects, go for walks to the beach or go on expeditions in the surrounding area. We especially enjoy going for walks to the beach, swimming both summer and winter, and we enjoy the short distance to Gilleleje, which has a fantastic harbor environment and some wonderful shops. We always buy fresh fish from one of the local fishmongers and use the library and the cozy cinema on rainy days.
Over the last 4 years, we have continuously renovated the house. On the sunny side of the house, for example, we have built a large wooden terrace where we enjoy breakfast in the sun, lunch under the parasol and warm summer evenings on the benches. The interior design of the summer house is probably influenced by the fact that we are both design educated and love the Danish furniture classics and well-designed handicrafts. We have tried to create a house that is both modern and simple in its style, but also warm and welcoming. It should be a place where your shoulders drop when you walk in the door.
We love the open green garden with the tall trees. It is secluded from neighbors and in the wild scrub that surrounds the garden, you can build dens, find breadsticks, pick raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, gooseberries and cherries or go insect hunting.

The cottage was really cozy and personally decorated. We felt very comfortable in the house and there was everything we needed plus a few extra goodies (ice cream maker, toys, gas grill). The enclosed terrace and garden with wild strawberries and cherries were so lovely. We are more than satisfied with our stay in the cottage.
