I (Grethe) am a visual artist, my husband Steffen is a construction engineer, and we have 3 girls. Steffen and I are the ones who use the cabin the most, usually 2 weekends per month and most vacations. We do a lot of walking, cycling & swimming in the sea. From September-April we can sit outside for hours watching the Northern Lights dance over the cabin. From February to April, there may be enough snow to put on skis or snowshoes on the stairs and walk straight up the mountain behind the cabin. From there you can see the Lofoten Wall, Tranøy lighthouse in Hamarøy and the entire Vestfjord. We have a dog that is always with us. He smokes a lot and is an expert at getting up on the sofa. The place is therefore not suitable for those who have allergies to dogs.

The cabin means relaxation from everyday life, long meals where we enjoy the view. The eagles soaring around the islets in the sea, the porpoise breathing on the beach. We enjoy working on the site in the dark winter months. The few hours of daylight are spent in the woodland or on walks, we enjoy board games and art production in the dark hours. From May-August it's light all day and we spend most of our time outside. There are lots of nice beaches nearby, where we swim and play kubb and boccia.
