When we saw the cottage for the first time, we bought it immediately. We had long had a dream of owning a place that was all our own.
We live in Aarhus, Denmark, and the cottage is our sanctuary away from the city and work. We enjoy letting the peace and quiet sink in to the sound of birds chirping, and we are regularly visited by little squirrels, much to the delight of our children.
The grass is sometimes allowed to grow tall here, and the maid doesn't visit every day. but on the other hand, the moment you step inside, you feel a sense of calm.
In the area, we particularly enjoy hiking in the scenic Mols Bjerge mountains, and lunch and breakfast from King Carrot and Skødshoved Badehotel. As a family, we love going to the beach, fishing for crabs on the pier, eating delicious ice cream or simply relaxing in our quiet garden with barbecue and s'mores over the fire pit.
