After 40 years with the same owner, we took over our fairytale holiday home in 2022. As architects and carpenters, we have dedicated a lot of time to renovating the essentials. For us, the cottage is the ultimate oasis of peace and quiet, with plenty of space for people to come and go. Inside, we have worked with colors to emphasize the moods created by the light. We built a long table to accommodate large dinners, and we moved the kitchen around so that more people can work in the kitchen at the same time. We designed the cottage so that we can use it as a place where we can immerse ourselves in our work, while still having room for life, play and families with children.
When we're at the cottage, we spend a lot of time in the forest. The forest is full of berries, fruits and mushrooms, which we diligently collect for our cooking. We love that we only have a 10-minute bike ride through the forest to the most beautiful beaches. We also often cycle to Tisvilde and Liseleje to visit flea markets and second-hand shops and make a find.
