Modern architect's house in idyllic location in Wendland
Wendland
Holiday home
130 m²
Up to 4 guests
2 bedrooms
In the picturesque Wendland region, between Hamburg and Berlin, lies the architect's house by Bastian and Carina, built in 2021, which blends in almost perfectly with its historical surroundings thanks to its elegant wooden cladding, despite its modern appearance.
The interior of the house impresses with selected natural materials: Italian natural stone, wide oak planks and exposed wooden beams create an aesthetic that satisfies the need for peace and relaxation. Modern, Scandinavian design combined with lovingly restored furniture from older generations gives the house its very special character.
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two workstations offer plenty of space for up to four people in addition to the spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen. Large windows invite plenty of light into all rooms and promise an incredible view of the immediate landscape. In the fall and winter, with the arrival of the darker and frostier seasons, the fireplace and underfloor heating provide cozy warmth and comfort throughout the house.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the south-facing terrace while the mist still lies over the expansive meadow and watch the deer grazing leisurely in the distance. An outdoor breakfast afterwards rounds off your start to the day perfectly. The surrounding area has plenty to offer for leisure activities. In addition to numerous walks in the countryside, you can take well-maintained cycle paths directly to the nearby swimming pond. There is also a museum within walking distance, which provides exciting insights into the history of this unique region.

Hey, we are Bastian and Carina, your hosts in our beautiful, modern house in Wendland. We live in Hamburg, where we work as a psychologist and TV editor. A few years ago, we decided to breathe new life into an old cattle shed and turn it into a vacation home. The surrounding nature and historic architecture draw us to this unique place time and time again. Here we enjoy the beautiful view of the landscape, take long walks to clear our heads and always find new inspiration in the picturesque surroundings.
