In 2020, Skæsihytten underwent a huge transformation, with virtually everything in the 1963 cottage being renovated. We're talking Dinesen floors throughout, a wood-burning stove that won the EU's environmental award, and beautiful details like the old chimney that now connects the old house and the new extension.
The interior design is personal and the love for Danish design can be seen in every room. And if you explore the house a little, you'll find several hidden lofts for cosy sleepovers and den building.
This is a great place to holiday together several generations or with friends, because there is plenty of space and great large common areas. But it's not just the inside that has wow factor. For the house is superbly situated on a high point with sea views and large trees on the natural grounds.
Out in the small annex, you can actually fit a family of four if you have slightly older children who can sleep up in the loft, while there are a whopping seven sleeping spaces inside the house.

Skæsihytten is our retreat from city life in Aarhus, where we, Helle and Frederik, live daily with our three children. We all love being in the cottage, all year round. For us, it's the perfect combination of living in the city and then being able to come out here and be in the middle of nature every chance we get.
If you stay in our beloved Skæsi cottage, there are two places we would recommend you go to: Slettehage Lighthouse which is an absolutely stunning old lighthouse and Lushage Viewpoint where you can enjoy the open countryside looking in to Ebeltoft Vig.
