We are Janni and Jesper, and we live in West Jutland with our two wonderful teenage boys. Back in the spring of 2020, we fell head over heels in love with the summer house 'Birken' here in Nørre Nebel, which fortunately is not far from our home in Varde. The location of the summer house is ideal for us, as it takes no more than a 20-minute drive to get there.

We bought the summer house from a couple who had owned it for 40 years and had left it in almost its original condition. Since taking over the house, we have enjoyed renovating it and making it our own. This has been done with a good mix of flea market finds and new items – all to give the house our own personal and authentic touch.

We enjoy spending a lot of time in the summer house, where we can really unwind. We often go on trips in the area – both on foot and on our mountain bikes. We also often light the wood-burning stove in the wilderness bath, especially in the evening, where we sit and gaze at the starry sky with the sound of the North Sea in the background. We love the large natural grounds surrounding the house, which make us feel completely undisturbed by the outside world.
