When I was growing up, my family had a cabin further up the valley, and we spent most of our vacations there. When it was sold, I lost part of my identity. It's a place that's always in my thoughts and my heart, even though I live my everyday life as a psychologist in the city. When I had the opportunity to build my own cabin, it was a great joy. To honor my late husband from Switzerland, the cabin has Swiss details. Much of the interior is from my grandparents, as my grandmother in particular was a whiz at getting bargains at auctions in the 1940s and 1950s.
