550 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains and waterfalls, with panoramic views of Rjukan and Gaustablikk, this beautiful place is waiting for you. If you're looking for an idyllic mountain retreat with many exciting and varied activities right on your doorstep, this is the place for you.
The combination of modern and traditional Norwegian is part of what makes this place so charming. With warm materials, cozy textiles and modern details, the place gives the cozy feeling of visiting someone you know. There are plenty of cozy places to spend time together, both indoors and outdoors, while at the same time you can retreat and enjoy some time alone. For example, the TV room with its lovely sofa corner is perfect for the youngest members of the family. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, with lovely views and a kitchen island with seating, so it's easy to get together and turn cooking into something cozy and social.
The large terrace invites you to enjoy the day's meals, the beautiful view and each other's company in a cozy setting. Here, the deep wicker furniture is the perfect place to sit, with outstanding views, embraced by the green-clad valley sides with a good cup of coffee. Outside, there are several seating areas and plenty of space for the youngest members of the family to play. After an active day, the terrace is the perfect place to gather.
The area offers many exciting activities for young and old. It's known for its waterfalls, lakes and steep mountains, where deer often roam and ice climbing is possible, among other things. You can explore the many historical sites, embark on action-packed adventures, enjoy the many great nature experiences or let the days pass at a quiet pace at home with beautiful views. Explore the many exciting activities in the area that offer Norwegian history, adrenaline-filled adventures and unique nature experiences
Our names are Charlotte and Carl Fredrik and we've owned the property since 2014. We often travel here in our spare time when we need a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and bring our friends and family to enjoy nature and activities all year round.
The property is located high and free. From the terrace and the house there is a panoramic view of Gaustablikk, the Norwegian Industrial Workers' Museum Vemork and Rjukan. The property is located approximately 550 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains and waterfalls. Rjukan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you can really feel the rush of history when you're here.
We love spending our time here, with nature on our doorstep and many unique opportunities in the surrounding area. We recommend exploring Hardangervidda, visiting the Gaustatoppen mountain at 1880 meters above sea level, where you can walk all the way to the top or take the Gaustabanen cable car, bungee jumping, alpine skiing, ice climbing, Krossobanen, Rjukanbadet, Rjukan climbing park, cycling, boat trips and fishing. We also often take friends to the Norwegian Industrial Workers' Museum/ Vemork Museum to experience the history of the battle for heavy water during the Second World War. Did we forget to mention the Sabot Trail? Take a guided tour of the Saboteur Trail and the Heavy Water Cellar. The Sabor Trail runs past our house.

We have had a fantastic week in Charlotte's house.
The house is very well maintained and very well furnished.
The view of the valley and the mountains, from the large terrace as well as from the windows, you never get tired of.
Charlotte was a fantastic host, who both before arrival and during our stay helped us to get the best experience in the house and in the area.
Rjukan is a really cozy town and has all the basic shops and institutions you need.
The area and the surrounding nature is incredibly beautiful and offers great nature experiences.
