Idyllic cottage by an old manor in the middle of unspoiled nature

In the middle of some of the most unspoilt countryside in Denmark lies this idyllic, thatched cottage. The house is called Hushovmesterboligen, as it is just a stone's throw from the beautiful Engestofte Estate and formerly housed the employees of the estate. The charming details from the past have been beautifully preserved in the house. The house is located approximately 250 metres from the estate's private park, from where there is access to the beautiful Maribo Søndersø. From here you can use the estate's private bathing jetty and swim and canoe in the summer.

The summer house is decorated with love for the historical, but also for the comfortable and the functional. Bright colours, wooden furniture and personal details create a charming and calm atmosphere that fits beautifully with the house's surroundings, and from one of the bedrooms there is direct access to the outdoors.

The two floors offer four bedrooms and a large and cosy living room, which makes a nice gathering point for the family or friends and offers a cosy wood stove to warm up by in winter. The dining room seats eight and the fine, country kitchen has everything you need for a lovely break from everyday life.

The master's house is located in the middle of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park in a cluster with three other idyllic half-timbered summer houses that formed a royal farm back in 1457. Here you can enjoy the view over the lake area of Søndersø, which in its undisturbed state is one of the most beautiful, and experience the fascination of being in a place where there are no traces of buildings or other human activity. If you are lucky, you might spot rare orchids and butterflies on a walk through the forest or see the amazing sea eagles that breed here.

Please note that the house is rented out on a weekly basis only in high season and that the stairs to the first floor are steep.
