In the middle of nature, this fantastic cottage nestles among the tall pine trees. It gives a sense of tranquillity from within the house's safe confines, where the fireplace is always nice and warm, even on the coldest days. The pine is echoed inside the 1965 house, which has been beautifully converted with carefully selected materials, good craftsmanship and a solid sense of aesthetics. And the cottage here can accommodate the whole large family or two in its scenic setting.

In renovating the cottage, the hosts have kept the house in the classic 60s style with a sense of the warmth, aesthetics and craftsmanship of the time. The renovations have been carried out with a sense of the house's history, but have added all modern conveniences, and all details have been well considered - from the tiles from Hasle on Bornholm to the carpentry-built kitchen in pine veneer. All so that you can relax and just be when you are there.

Inside the house you will find a utility room, three small bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen with a home bar and access to the atmospheric terrace. The outdoors on the terrace in summer is life-giving and encourages good food and wine with friends, lamps in the trees and warm summer nights. The area is open, understood in the sense that the plots in the area are not fenced in, as it is a requirement that game should be able to move freely and the forest should remain a forest. On the whole 1900 square meter plot there is plenty of space and many nice little nooks around, where you can settle down with a good book, completely undisturbed. There are several hammocks you can set up around the forest. The house also has a nice annex with sleeping places.

Just five minutes away is the beach, which is quite unique. It is a wide sandy beach with shallow water, which makes it completely child-friendly, where you can bring a food basket and laze for a whole day or just run back and forth between the beach and the house. The Fredskovens ice-cream parlour is within walking distance of both the house and the beach, and here you can satisfy your hunger and thirst - and not least there is ice-cream for children and childlike souls, because here they don't spare the ice-cream in the waffles...

The summer house is primarily designed for relaxation and contemplation in front of the fireplace or a good book on the terrace in a deck chair, but the area of West Zealand offers many experiences. You can easily get around to, for example, Tissø bird sanctuary, which has sea eagles, or to a small, cosy Viking centre, which tells the story of a large Viking community in the area. The large Trelleborg Viking Centre is also just a 20-minute drive from the house, and is also worth a visit - especially if you happen to be at a market.

Highlights from Kenneth & Anna

Host since March 2022

  • The 60s style of the house is preserved with pine, good craftsmanship and aesthetic details - but with modern conveniences such as the home bar.
  • There's plenty of space for the whole family - or even two - to get together in a beautiful setting.
  • The house is surrounded by nature and only a five-minute walk from the beach and the sea.

Our names are Anna and Kenneth, and together with our four children we have the cottage here. It has always been a common desire to own our very own cottage in the middle of nature, and when we stumbled upon this little gem three years ago, we didn't doubt for a second. The house dates from 1965 and since we bought it we have rebuilt it ourselves.

When we are in the cottage - and we are as often as possible - it is all about relaxation, cosiness and recharging our batteries, as everyday jobs demand a lot from both of us. We go for walks in the beautiful countryside, swim as much as possible, sit out under the big pine trees until late in the evening while the bats hunt in the twilight, or 'talk' to the night owl that lives in the area. In winter it is nice and warm and safe inside, from where we follow the movements of the crowned deer in the area.

A trip to Røsnæs is a must. Climb the lighthouse and look out over the Kattegat and the Great Belt, and if the weather is good, take a dip at Nyby harbour, where you can also buy an ice cream, a cold beer or a pork sandwich. If you want to eat out in the area, there are a couple of wineries, not least Restaurant Næs, which comes highly recommended.

Reersø harbour offers fishmongers, its own brewery and crab races, and the inn provides good sandwiches and decor from a bygone era. Definitely worth a visit. The bathing beaches at Reersø are fantastic, blue flag and all, and water activity is a big thing here. Snorkelling, UV hunting and inshore fishing are all very good in the area, which has lots of sea trout. It is also possible to launch a boat at the beach and harbour. If you have some active children at the cottage, you can spend a day at Kragerup estate, where there are climbing tracks in the trees to challenge even the best. Booking via the website is a must.

Really beautiful, well-appointed and well-functioning holiday home, located so cozy in the old pine forest and even close to the beach.
