When we first saw this cottage, we knew we had to own it. We could already feel the calmness settling in before we had even been inside. Since then, we have enjoyed every moment in and around the house. The large windows, which are a constant feature throughout the house, add a special authenticity to the natural surroundings. It is a gift to get so close to the wildlife of the fjord. We playfully watch as the crabs wander around the water's edge and the sea eagles circle hungrily over the fjord.
We also love exploring the different places around. This often involves walks in the area around Ulriksholm Castle, as well as the woodlands surrounding the beautiful manor house. In addition, we sometimes treat ourselves to a visit to Restaurant Rudolf Mathis, one of Funen's best fish restaurants. If we want even more nature, we will stop by Fyns Hoved, where you might be lucky to see both seals and porpoises. Last but not least, there is Kerteminde town, known as the 'town with the red roofs'. A beautiful and old harbour town that has preserved its very special fisherman's system.
