In an oasis of greenery among vast fields and meadows and under an endless sky, this fine country house from 1904 provides a peaceful setting for a stay with nature, presence and tranquillity in focus. Here you live far off the beaten track in Sydals, surrounded by greenery and water on several sides with the opportunity to go on wonderful bike rides and swim in the sea from the many beaches that you can be lucky enough to have almost to yourself.
The cottage has been renovated with sustainable materials and a simple and straightforward interior design that lets the scenic surroundings come to the fore. The plank floors feel soft against your bare feet when you get out of bed in the morning, ready to enjoy your morning coffee in the garden or on the terrace. On cold days, you can relax on the sofa with a good book and a fire in the wood-burning stove, or take a brisk walk along the beach, which can be reached on foot from the cottage.
Explore the large natural grounds of more than 2000 square meters and see how the creek runs through. As the day draws to a close, soak up the warm rays of the evening sun on the balcony, perhaps with a glass of wine or a simple meal made from fresh produce you've brought home from local roadside stalls. As you sit here, you can enjoy the golden light over the fragrant grass and flowers on the plot, which is bordered by a small stream with rippling water in the distance. The house consists of a bedroom on the ground floor and an upper floor with 4 beds.
The owner of the cottage also has a house down the road, so it's a great place for couples or families to vacation together in separate houses.

We are Judith and Stephan, a Danish-German couple living here in Denmark. We love our life in peace and quiet on the island of Als, a wonderful part of Denmark surrounded by water and nature. In 2021, we bought a whole street on the island with three dilapidated houses, of which this house from 1904 is one. Many people probably expected us to demolish the houses, but instead we have restored them with respect for the original soul and history. Sustainable materials have been used and the houses have new plank floors.
When we are here, we love to take walks by the water and in the Hummelvig nature area. The houses are located right between Mommark and Kærneland, which are great beaches. We often go cycling on the Kegnæs peninsula or take our bikes on the ferry for a day trip on beautiful Ærø.

Very tastefully and comfortably furnished. The proximity to the water and the hiking trail is also nice.
