We are a family of 4 - Kjetil, Elin and two girls, almost 12 and 16 years old. Kjetil was born and raised here, which means that the place is particularly important to us. It was originally a small farm with goats, which was closed down in 1999. The farm was used as a multi-generational home where Kjetil's grandmother and grandfather lived in the original part of the house that was built in 1928 and Kjetil's family lived in the part of the property that was built in 1978.
We took over the small farm as our holiday and sanctuary in 2002, and decided to rehabilitate the houses in 2021, so that we would have plenty of space for ourselves, friends and acquaintances, and to be able to share our sanctuary by renting out . The result will soon be clear, and the two original houses have been merged into one large cabin with modern standards.
When we are at the cabin, we love to use the area. Sunnmøre is known for its beautiful peak landscape, which can be enjoyed both in summer and winter and contains famous mountains such as Slogen, Saksa, Urkeegga, Skårasalen, Råna, Kolåstind and Jønshorn, all of which are in the immediate vicinity. Hotel Union on Øye, Christian Gård on Trandal and Hotel Sagafjord on Sæbø are also places we like to visit.
Although the farm is over, we have 5 goats that graze at the cottage every summer from the beginning of May to November. They are both wonderful lawnmowers and very social and cuddly - and love to be visited by young and old.
