My cottage life in the countryside is the diametrical and much-needed contrast to my weekdays in the city, where I live an active, fast-paced life with an exciting job and as a mother of three lovely and busy teenagers. The summer house, with the Nordskoven in the backyard and Roskilde Fjord just outside the windows, provides peace in all seasons. I love to sit and look out over the beach meadow, and even the kids are repeatedly impressed by how the sun can color the entire fjord and landscape in red.
I like to walk along the beach to Kulhuse Harbor and take walks in the North Forest to Frederik the 7th's Hunting Pavilion or Kongeegen, which is said to be 1500-2000 years old. I also like the area around Jægerspris Castle with the beautiful castle park and the old memorial stones.

We had a fantastic weekend in Berith's cottage, which lived up to our expectations. The house was charming, clean and cozy and had everything we needed.
