Just 50 metres from the clear waters and fine sands of the beach, the small architect-designed cottage 'The Red House' blends the best of the 1950s with contemporary design features. Built in the style of the 50s, the house retains much of the atmosphere of the original house, whose knick-knacks and details have been reused in the new house. So here's a beautiful new house with all the soul and charm of a real cottage holiday - and with beautiful surroundings that include both beautiful forests and deserted beaches for you to enjoy on your own.
Although the house is newly built, lots of the 50's atmosphere is preserved and it is furnished with knick-knacks and furniture from the original house - for example, the house offers a charming retro front kitchen, old 50's cabinets and a retro terrazzo floor in the bathroom.
The kitchen has a gas hob and a small oven, and there are plenty of crockery and a dishwasher, so you'll have everything you need for a great holiday. Modern updates include underfloor heating, so it's always warm and cosy even in the coldest months. The house is best suited for two adults.
There are beautiful light plank floors throughout the house and in the living room the simple wooden partition wall gives an airy feel. Enjoy the bright, beautifully decorated surroundings and the large windows, which in the living room, kitchen and bedroom provide a lovely view out to the cosy, scenic area.
The house has been designed with a view to preserving some of the history and architecture of the previous house on the site, which was originally part of a small group of bathhouses for townspeople from Horsens. There was not much land between the old bathhouses, so there is not much garden to the site - On the other hand, there is plenty of surrounding beach and forest to enjoy both in summer and winter. There's nothing like a fresh, cold dip in the roaring sea followed by morning coffee on the small, cosy terrace as the sun rises. Inside, the round window lets the sunlight shine in from the east, and as the day progresses you can enjoy watching the round circle of light move through the house right from the early summer mornings to the late summer evenings.

Highlights from Lena
Host since March 2022
- Wake up in bed to sea views through the large windows
- The retro details from the original house give a wonderful cottage atmosphere
- Only 50 metres to the sea with fine sand and clear water
Our names are Lena and Stefan, and we love our lovely cottage, which we have built and decorated with a lot of love. Here you can really have a peaceful holiday with a clear view of the sunrise over As Vig.
We built and decorated the house ourselves in 2020 with the help of our grown-up children, and our son Johan designed the house. Everything has been done with respect for the environment, the surroundings and the previous house that was on the plot.
Our favourite spot in the house is waking up in bed and looking out over the sea, as well as the hook with the big bench in front of the kitchen window.
Ace's Head with its forest and deserted beaches is definitely our favourite, either by bike or on foot - we love walking along the beach where we find weasels and see seals and porpoises, and there are also opportunities for fishing. Sea trout in particular are popular to fish for.
In summer we also enjoy SUP boarding up the coast, or going to flea markets in the area.
The beautiful sculpture park and manor house Palsgaard is also worth a visit - and if you fancy a drive, the port town of Juelsminde is recommended. There is a delicious fish shop and a good ice-cream stall.
You can also go on an island trip: either to Hjarnø or to Endelave out in Kattegat. In Horsens, a 15-minute drive from the house, there are restaurants, concerts and city life.
We always make sure the house is warm and clean when you arrive. We look forward to sharing the place with you.

A very lovingly furnished house that also offers cozy seating outside. Wonderfully quiet location with sea views and a short walk to the water. A perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries. 💜
