Learn how to book a holiday home, manage your account, and make changes to your bookings.
Each holiday home has a different check-in and check-out time. You can see the check-in and check-out times on the respective holiday home profiles. Typically, check-in is from 15:00, and check-out is by 10:00. You'll receive specific times in your booking confirmation and stay guide.
You can request to change the dates of your booking in your booking details by going to the Manage Booking tab. Your changes depend on the home's availability and the host's approval. Please note that date changes may affect the price of your booking.
Yes, you'll need to create a free Landfolk account to complete your booking. Creating an account is quick and easy - you can sign up with your email address or use social login options. Having an account allows you to manage your bookings, communicate with hosts, access your stay guide, and save your favorite holiday homes for later. Read how we process your personal data in our privacy policy.
You can book holiday homes up to 18 months in advance, depending on the host's calendar availability. Many hosts open their calendars for the upcoming year, so you can plan your holidays well in advance. Some holiday homes may have shorter booking windows, which will be indicated on the holiday home profile.
To complete your booking, you'll need to provide: your contact information (name, email, phone number), payment details, the number of guests staying, and any special requests or questions for the host. Some hosts may request additional information, such as the purpose of your stay or guest ages, which you can provide during the booking process or in the message centre after booking.
The maximum number of guests allowed is specified on each holiday home profile. If you'd like to bring more guests than originally booked, you have to contact the host through the Landfolk platform to request approval. Additional guests may result in extra charges, and the host has the right to approve or decline the request based on the property's capacity and local regulations.

Payment

We offer the most popular payment methods from country to country. You pay when you book. We accept credit cards, debit cards, and other local payment methods depending on your location.
Yes, you have the option to split your payment and only pay 25% up front to secure your booking. The remaining amount plus a non-refundable split payment fee of 1.6% + VAT will be charged closer to your check-in date.
When you book, you can choose to pay the full amount immediately or split your payment. If you choose split payment, 25% is charged at booking to secure your reservation, and the remaining 75% plus a non-refundable split payment fee of 1.6% + VAT is automatically charged 30 days before your check-in date. If you book less than 30 days before check-in, the full amount is charged immediately.
Prices are displayed in the local currency of the country where the holiday home is located. For example, homes in Denmark show prices in Danish Kroner (DKK), homes in Norway in Norwegian Kroner (NOK), and homes in Sweden in Swedish Kronor (SEK). Your payment will be processed in the same currency, and your bank or credit card company will handle any currency conversion if needed.
The price you see includes everything - the rental price, cleaning fee, utility costs (water, heat, and electricity), and insurance. There are no hidden booking fees or additional charges. The final price shown during checkout is exactly what you'll pay.
Cancellation

Each holiday home has its own cancellation policy, which you can see on the holiday home profiles. Most homes offer free cancellation up to a certain date before check-in. After that date, cancellation policies vary. Please check the specific cancellation policy for the home you're interested in before booking.
If you’re entitled to a refund, it’s typically processed within 5–10 banking days, depending on your payment method and bank.
If a host needs to cancel your booking, we'll notify you immediately and help you find an alternative holiday home. If we can't find a suitable replacement, you'll receive a full refund. We understand this is inconvenient, so we'll do our best to make the process as smooth as possible and may offer additional assistance to help you find a new booking.

The stay

This varies by holiday home. You can see whether linen and towels are provided on each holiday home profile. If they’re not provided, you’ll need to bring your own. However, for some homes, you can buy linen packages for an extra fee during checkout. You can see whether this option is available on the holiday home profile.
Each holiday home profile has different available amenities, such as Wi-Fi, kitchen facilities, parking, pool, heating, and more. You can check which amenities are available in a specific home on the holiday home profile. All homes include basic utilities (water, heat, electricity) and cleaning in the price. If you have questions about specific amenities, you can contact the host before booking.
Most holiday homes on Landfolk include Wi-Fi, but availability varies by property. You can check if Wi-Fi is available by looking at the amenities list on each listing page. If Wi-Fi is important for your stay, we recommend filtering for properties with Wi-Fi or contacting the host to confirm the connection quality, especially if you need it for work or streaming.
This depends on the holiday home. Each holiday home profile indicates what's provided, such as linen, towels, kitchen equipment, and basic supplies. Generally, you should bring personal items, toiletries, food and beverages, and any specific items you need for your stay. If linen and towels aren't provided, you'll need to bring your own or arrange to rent them. Your stay guide, sent 14 days before arrival, will include specific information about what's available at your holiday home.
Holiday homes booked through Landfolk are meant for private holiday use. Parties, events, commercial use, or any illegal activities are not allowed unless the host has explicitly approved it in writing.
Yes. You must follow the house rules set by the host, as well as any rules in the building or local area. House rules are shown on the holiday home profile and/or in your stay guide and are part of your agreement with the host.
If you choose to leave before the end of your stay, you are generally not entitled to a refund for the unused nights, unless you and the host have agreed otherwise in writing.
If you experience issues with the holiday home, for example cleaning, defects, or missing amenities, contact the host as soon as possible so they can try to resolve it. If you can’t reach the host or the issue isn’t solved satisfactorily, contact Landfolk’s support during your stay.
Insurance
Questions about insurance coverage.
Cleaning, utility costs and insurance are always included in the price. So during a stay in a Landfolk holiday home, you're covered by Landfolk's insurance for sudden and unforeseen damage such as a broken dining table, damaged TV, stained mattresses, visible and extensive scratch marks on doors from pets and broken valuables above the minimum value for your country.
You contact Landfolk as soon as possible at dispute@landfolk.com and describe the damage. We will make sure to contact the host, who is responsible for making a damage report to the insurer. If the damage results in a payment and a deductible applies in your country, that deductible will be claimed from you.
Your deductible depends on the country where the holiday home is located. In some countries, you have no deductible as a guest when a covered damage occurs. In others, you have a fixed deductible per claim, as described in our insurance terms.
Gift Card

You can buy a gift card here. If you need help or you want to buy multiple gift cards at once, please don't hesitate to contact us.
You have three options for redeeming your gift card:
- You can redeem your gift card on your profile where you can also keep track of your Landfolk balance.
- You can redeem your gift card above ☝️
- You can redeem your gift card when you're paying for your next getaway.
You can only use the gift card to pay for your bookings. You can't use it to cover an insurance case, buy other gift cards or purchase a photo package as a host.
Yes. Once you redeem your gift card, it's added to your Landfolk balance. Each time you book a holiday home, you can select how much you want to use of your balance. As long as your balance is more than 0, you can use it to pay for another getaway.
No, you can just use a part of it and then use the rest another time. You can use your gift cards as many times as you like.
The gift card is valid for 3 years after the date of purchase. So you have to use your gift card within 3 years after the gift card was purchased, otherwise the amount will be deducted from your Landfolk balance once 3 years have passed.
Yes, you can pass your gift card on to someone else even after you have redeemed it. On your profile, you can see your full balance and each gift card you have added. Here you can also remove a gift card, so you can pass it on to someone else.
No, you can't refund your gift card, but you can remove it from your Landfolk balance and give it to someone else if you no longer need it.
You can find and keep track of your balance on your profile. Here you can also redeem new gift cards.
When you buy a Landfolk gift card, you always receive your gift card via email, so you can find your gift card in your email inbox. If you've deleted the email we sent you, please contact us so we can send it to you again. If you have redeemed it already, you can find your gift card on your profile.
Yes, you can use your gift card in combination with other discounts and offers.
As a rule, there are no extra fees associated with paying with your gift card. But if you want your gift card in an exclusive gift box, you need to pay the delivery costs. Otherwise, there are no extra fees associated with using the gift card.
You need to be at least 18 to book on landfolk.com, and the same goes for using gift cards. But otherwise, you can give the gift card to anyone you want. You can also use part of the gift card yourself, and then pass the gift card on to another person by removing the gift card from your Landfolk balance on your profile.

Yes, anyone can refer a new host. Regardless of whether you're an existing Landfolk host, a guest, a cleaning partner, or a holiday home enthusiast, you're welcome to sign up and start referring.{lineBreak}You can refer as many times as you like – we always welcome beautiful and personal holiday homes to join Landfolk.
Once the holiday home you've referred has joined Landfolk and is live within 30 days of initiating the application, you will be able to choose from a list of rewards.

If you need a holiday home for a photoshoot, just book the holiday home you prefer and add your company name and CVR by checking off 'Booking on behalf of a company' during checkout. Then, we'll make the further arrangements with our host and prepare a contract for you.

Hosts charge 4 nights for one full photoshoot day. This price covers early arrival and late departure, increased wear and tear on the holiday home, higher utility costs, more thorough preparation and end-cleaning as well as insurance. In addition, it also covers the rights of use to the pictures and materials produced during the photoshoot.
When you book the house, just book as many nights as is required and explain your need to the host. We can change the dates afterwards.
It depends on the host, but in most cases, it's possible to see the holiday home once you've booked and before your photoshoot. We know it's easier to plan the shoot if you can see the holiday home before production day, so feel free to ask the host about this possibility.
Generally speaking, all bookings follow the cancellation policy shown on their booking. However, most of our hosts are understanding of postponing the booking because of bad weather or other external circumstances.{lineBreak}We recommend discussing this with the host during the booking process and maybe offering an advance payment to accommodate for last-minute cancellation.

All holiday homes on Landfolk always include insurance, utility costs and cleaning. In addition, you get the rights to use the photos of your photoshoot. You'll receive a contract on rights of use before your arrival.

A selection of our hosts sign up their holiday home to host a Landfolk Creator. We'll curate a list of those holiday homes based on your interests, number of guests, available dates and so on. And then you can choose from that list.

The best timing is when there's a match between when you can go and when there's a fitting holiday home available. It should be noted that collaborations are only conducted outside school holidays, as these weeks are our peak season and therefore critical for our business.
We love to create long term relationships, so if you're happy and we're happy with the collaboration, there's no limit. Please note that Landfolk is not obliged to facilitate a stay based on your application or acceptance to our Creator Programme, but we will of course do our best to find a match as soon as possible.
Yes, of course! The holiday home experience is great to share with the people you love – whether it's friends or family. Most of our holiday homes are great for 2-5 guests. That said, a solo trip can also be a great way to recharge and reconnect with yourself.
The content you create has to cover the stay both before, during and after with photos, video and text including document aspects of your travel (e.g. packing and in transport), your stay inside and outside the holiday home (e.g. cooking, relaxing with a book, or playing a game) as well as some activities in the local area (e.g. a walk in the forest or a trip to a local farm). The specific number of content to be delivered is to be specified before each stay.

It's completely up to you, but we're here to support however we can.
At Landfolk, the guest's price always includes preparation and final cleaning. If it is you who cleans, you set the price for cleaning and the amount will be included in your payment. Conversely, if we are responsible for it, we set the price and settle directly with the guest.

It's free to set up and be on landfolk.com. It's only in the moment you welcome a guest that it costs you anything. Depending on which plan you're on, you pay a different host fee. If we take care of renting out your holiday home and communicating with your guests (Managed by Landfolk), you pay a 10% host fee. If you take care of everything yourself, we take a 5% host fee. In both cases, a guest fee is added to the guest's final price, as payment for our platform and services. The fees are not included VAT which will be added to both the host and the guest fee.

That way, guests avoid being in doubt about what a holiday home trip is actually going to cost in the end. We've made it easy for you by splitting up the price in three sections: rental price, cleaning fee, and utility costs.{lineBreak}By working with an average price for the consumption at the coldest and warmest time of the year, it may be below the actual consumption some months and over other months, but ultimately cover your costs. We think this is a fair way to do it for both the guest and you as the host.
At Landfolk, we have an insurance with Gjensidige (Denmark, Norway, and Sweden) and Trustiway (Germany, France, Italy and Spain), which covers the applicable insurance conditions in the event of sudden and unforeseen damage that occurs during a rental period and which is not covered by your holiday home insurance.{lineBreak}You can read the full description <a>here</a>.

In Italy, you are required to obtain a license number, also known as CIN (Codice Identificativo Nazionale), before you can rent out your holiday home. You can apply for such a license online here, if you have residence in Italy. Be aware that it may take up to 8 weeks to obtain your CIN.

Expand is Landfolk's way of making sharing your holiday home as easy as possible, as we handle all bookings, guest communication, and profile optimisation, while you still get to enjoy your holiday home most of the year.
With Essential, you manage guest communication, your calendar, and your profile. With Expand, Landfolk manages these for you, including full calendar management and continuous profile optimisation.
First, you apply with your holiday home. We review your application and assess whether your home is a good fit for Landfolk and Expand. If it's a match, we tailor your profile and start renting out the home for you.
With Expand, Landfolk is your exclusive rental partner. We manage your bookings and exposure through our platform and selected channels, so you don't have to manage multiple profiles yourself.
The host commission fee is 5%. A guest fee is added to the guest's final price as payment for our platform and services. The fees are excluding VAT, which will be added to both the host and the guest fee.
Yes. Even though Landfolk manages your calendar under Expand, you can still reserve periods for your own use of the holiday home. We help balance your own stays with a healthy rental income.
No. With Expand, you can use Landfolk's optional cleaning service where available through our selected cleaning partners. In some areas, you may still choose to handle cleaning yourself if you prefer.

When you apply using that link, we'll know that you were referred by them and let them know that you've applied. Your application will go through the same procedure with our supply team as all other holiday homes. If it results in a successful onboarding and your holiday home is online on landfolk.com within 30 days from the application time, both you and [ReferrerName] will be able to choose between different rewards. When this happens, we'll make sure to notify you both.

Insurance
Questions about insurance coverage.
If a guest causes damage during a stay in your Landfolk holiday home, our insurance will cover damage on your property. This includes a broken dining table, damaged TV, stained mattresses, visible and extensive scratch marks on doors from pets and broken valuables above the minimum value specified for your country.
Our supplementary insurance does not cover damage caused by fire, theft or damage caused by storm or water as well as fungal damage and missing objects. In these cases, please contact your own insurance.

You report the damage by contacting Landfolk at <a>support@landfolk.com</a>, and we will send you a damage report. Once you have completed and submitted the report together with images of the damage (and preferably original purchase receipts), the relevant insurer will process it.{lineBreak}In some countries, Landfolk will also help you collect the guest's deductible if the claim is accepted.
You should always report the damage as soon as possible after the guest has checked out. In some countries, there is a hard deadline to report within a certain number of days in order for your claim to be eligible, as described in the insurance terms.
Even if the damage does not exceed the required value for an insurance payout, you should still report the damage by reaching out to us at support@landfolk.com. Then the extent of the damage will be assessed, and if you wish, we can help you by contacting and charging the guest for compensation.
If you as a host are prevented from welcoming guests with already planned bookings due to an unforeseen damage caused by previous guests, your loss of rental income can be covered by the insurance according to the applicable conditions.
Our supplementary insurance covers the buildings and objects that are covered by your own holiday home insurance in regard to the insurance policy. Associated property like your boat, canoe, ATV or similar vehicles are not covered by the insurance. You can read more in the insurance terms.
