Vestavindshagen - Modern cabin gem surrounded by ocean and mountains

We are a married couple in our early 60s with three adult sons, and this is our dream cabin. On a daily basis, we live in the neighboring municipality of Kvæfjord, which is an hour's drive + 15 minutes away by ferry.

One of the things we love most about the cabin is the very special smell of heather and sea that greets us when we get out of the car. The view is absolutely unique and the elements come close to the house wall, summer and winter. In summer, we have 22 hours of sun a day, and there is no light pollution here, so both the starry sky and the northern lights are experienced even more intensely out here. It is simply magical. The spring is only 40 m away and the area offers the opportunity for walks in fantastic terrain. Neighboring island also offers steep mountains and the opportunity to go randonee.

The cabin is located in Norway's northernmost archipelago, with 365 islands and islets, white sandy beaches and arctic bathing water. The sea offers the opportunity to fish both from a boat and from land, and there is easy access by ferry, so day trips to Senja, Lofoten, Vesterålen and Narvik are within reach. The nearest town is Harstad, where festivals are organized all year round - such as the Festspillene i Nord-Norge at the end of June. You can also hire boats for sea fishing, go on trips in the archipelago with a rib or sailing boat or explore the islands and mountains on foot. Here there is an opportunity for good experiences for everyone.
