We are a family of five who were lucky enough to have found this gem of a holiday home back in April 2022. Since then, we have renovated the house from top to bottom. Here we find coziness and peace and always get the feeling of jumping off the so-called hamster wheel as soon as we enter the house. We love that the plot is large and wild, with plenty of space for the kids to run around on the grass and explore the many nooks and crannies. The location is the main reason we bought the house. It's only 250 meters from the water with a jetty and boat launch, so we can easily walk barefoot to the beach with our paddleboards under our arms.
When we're not by the water, we like to visit the bird sanctuary just east of the cottage, where there are many good hiking trails in a flat terrain. If we want to enjoy a more hilly landscape, we head to beautiful Røsnæs. Here we also swim and enjoy the sauna in Røsnæs Harbor. In Kalundborg, there is also a lovely harbor bath with the opportunity to play kayak polo, jump off ropes and eat something delicious at one of the three cafés. If the weather is not so good, we also like to go to the movies in Kalundborg.
