In the heart of an idyllic spot with thatched cottages, right at the foot of the dyke, you will find this enchanting little Frisian cottage dating back to 1795. Its unique location offers a fascinating view of the marshland and the Roter Haubarg, a listed farmhouse with its own museum and restaurant. The cottage has been completely renovated using traditional craftsmanship and lovingly restored and furnished with the utmost care to preserve the historic fabric of the building.
As soon as you enter this special place, you will be surrounded by a loving atmosphere created by bright walls and furniture, carefully selected natural materials and plenty of light. In the open-plan living area, you can make yourself comfortable on the sofa, relax with a Frisian tea or spend relaxing evenings at the rustic wooden table over a maritime dinner. When the weather is nice, the large garden with a wicker beach chair and a glass of wine invites you to end the day outdoors. The open bedroom on the top floor offers maximum sleeping comfort thanks to the large Swiss stone pine bed with Tempur mattresses. While you are woken by the first rays of sunshine, the warm evening light accompanies you into dreamy nights. A large, modern bathroom ensures a relaxed and refreshing start to the day.
The immediate surroundings have a lot to offer for those seeking relaxation as well as leisure adventurers. Enjoy Husum crab soup in the restaurant in the Roter Haubarg or cycle along the village street with its beautiful individual houses to the North Sea dyke. There is also a bathing area nearby, where you can dive into the open North Sea via a jetty. The wide sandy beaches of Sankt Peter-Ording can be reached from the house in under 30 minutes by car.
Important note: We love thatched-roof vacation homes - when dealing with fire and electricity
Electricity, we ask guests to ensure that the thatched roof is not exposed to any fire risk. You will receive more detailed instructions from your host.
Tourism Fee not included
A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you're bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.
