In this charming half-timbered house, located in a private forest overlooking the sea, you will find a rare combination of peace, history, and natural beauty. The house has been newly renovated and offers a unique atmosphere with historical furniture and objects from Rugaard Manor.
The newly renovated interior thoughtfully combines the past and the present. The house has a new kitchen and bathroom, while the original details have been preserved. Note the characteristic low doors inside, which bear witness to the historical character of the house.
The garden blends naturally with the surrounding private forest, where the silence is broken only by the sounds of nature. Here you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with only one neighbor and a farm nearby.
You are located in the heart of Mols Bjerge National Park with its rich biodiversity. Explore Jernhatten, where J.R.R. Tolkien found inspiration, visit the charming Havmøllen, or explore the many hiking trails in the area. Rugaard Camping is nearby with facilities such as a shop and activities for the whole family.

Skovhuset has been part of our family’s heritage for generations, and we have placed great importance on preserving its character while modernizing the facilities with a new kitchen and bathroom. Skovhuset was once two animal barns for the neighboring Jægersgaard, until they were merged into one house and eventually became known as Damhuset (named after its first resident). Today, we hope you will find historic inspiration as well as rest and relaxation both inside and outside of Skovhuset.
We also host Havhuset (“The Beach House”), which is located on our grounds as well.
