Outside, you can sit in the shade of the covered terrace with your morning coffee or fire up the barbecue on hot days, while children and childlike souls play garden games or take a swing in the old oak tree. You can also challenge each other to a game of mini-golf at your neighbour, Denmark's oldest mini-golf course.
Saksild is perfect for those slow days, when you'll slip down the country lane past swaying cornfields to the local bakery for morning bread and hop on your bikes to pick up fish from the fisherman for lunch. And with only a few hundred metres to one of Denmark's finest sandy beaches, you're never far from the next sea bath. When you get home, you can take a rinse under the open sky in the outdoor pool's rainshower.

We are a couple who have known each other for seven years and we enjoy doing projects together. Michael is a craftsman, while Carina is an experience designer. We have travelled a lot in the world where we have been inspired by different cultures and people. After completely renovating and decorating our home, which is a house from the 60s, we wanted to embark on a new project. After months of searching, we found the perfect cottage for us in Saksild, which we bought in 2020 and have since made our very own.
In the winter, there is room for peace and quiet and the area is quieter compared to the summer, which is buzzing with life and people. A few hundred metres away you can jump into the beautiful sea, which has a delicious sandy bottom and the softest sand. We are also neighbours to Denmark's oldest mini golf course, where you can both have a game or enjoy the tastiest gourmet ice creams from Kastberg.
The local area around our cottage is one of the things we enjoy most. To be able to cycle out to Norsminde Fiskehus and buy fresh fishcakes, pick up freshly baked bread, vegetables from Tunø or a delicious steak for the grill at the farm shop Fru Møllers or stop by Karensminde Fruit Plantation and pick fruit according to the season - our favourite is their cherries, which are really delicious and juicy.
