The Sea Buckthorn House invites you to socialize, have drinks on the homemade daybed and sunbathe on the terrace. An incredible amount of effort and energy has been put into making guests feel comfortable in this little house and appreciate all the little details that have been chosen with such care. The large windows in the living room and kitchen, and especially the many wicker furniture pieces, create a lovely cottage atmosphere.

The covered terrace is sunny most of the day, and when the sun disappears from here, you can move down to the terrace at the end of the house and enjoy the last rays of the sun. The bathing path leads directly down to the water, and at only 400 meters, it's not far to take an evening dip after a hot day on the terrace.

There are many great places to visit in the area, both within cycling and walking distance. It's worth stopping by the Tversted Lakes campfire site, the nature playground or the shelters located close to the lakes. From the cottage, it's also not far to Det Grå Ishus, which is famous for its homemade ice cream and Bubble Waffles.

The combination of the beautiful, well-cared for and maintained cottage and the area close to the beach, water and unique local shops provides a wonderful setting for relaxing and socializing.

Highlights from Liselotte & Morten

Host since March 2021

  • The interior of the house has just been completely renovated, so it invites guests and happy days
  • The personal and retro décor with flea market finds is selected with attention to detail
  • Everything has been thought of to pamper future guests

We are a family of five living just 6 kilometers from our holiday home, Havtornhuset, in Tversted.

Morten is the director of a machine workshop in Hirtshals, and Liselotte is the foster mother of our 10-year-old boy.

We took over our lovely cottage in November 2020 and have since spent the winter renovating it ourselves.

We have chosen to decorate it in a completely different way than our everyday home. Liselotte loves to decorate and we have chosen the old romantic style for the cottage. Most of the interior was bought at flea markets and second-hand shops, and buckets of white paint were used on furniture and, not least, on the walls and ceilings of the house.

We spend a lot of energy on finding just the right things, gadgets and furniture for our beloved cottage. I love ceramics, old wine glasses and tableware. So there's plenty of that in the house.

We love being in the cottage and packing for walks in the area. There are many bunkers close to the cottage where you can go on guided tours in the summer. We enjoy the peace and quiet, but of course we also like to do small projects. Our holiday home is always under development, as we are creative and get new ideas all the time.

In June 2021, a brand new hot tub was installed with a fiberglass insert, which is super easy to use and not least enjoy a starry sky in the evening.

In addition to the many creative DIY projects, we often go out and visit the local area. Sørig Gl Skole is often on the route. Ceramist Dorte Hansen is based here, and she makes the most beautiful ceramics. You can buy her delicious homemade cakes and enjoy them in her old garden. When we don't end up in Dorte's old garden, we head to the Old Memories shop where we find retro fleas for the summer house.
