Our names are Cato and Preben and we're in our late 40s. We built our cabin in Rorsundet three years ago and love the unique view and the very special expression the cabin gets from being built on stilts out in the water. Cato and his parents are originally from the Vega Islands, so we have a naturally strong connection to the area. The interior is something we've been particularly interested in, and it really reflects our taste and suits us. Preben is a chef and loves to work in the kitchen, so we've made sure to equip it with lots of different kitchen equipment.
With 6,500 islands around us, it's fantastic to paddle around the area, and kayaking is our number 1 activity. The cabin is also a perfect starting point for sailing, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, SUP, cycling and hiking trails, and it's also not far to the Vega Staircase, which takes you 2000 steps up to the top of Ravnfloget and gives you an impressive view of the sea and the islands below you. You can also go on a ferrata tour, watch birds, follow the Stone Age trails and of course sail between Vega's many islands, islets and reefs.
