Enjoy some quiet time in one of the three spacious bedrooms on the second floor or curl up on the sofa in the living room and lose yourself in the magnificent view of the sea.
Outside, you can get some sun on your face on the terrace or the common jetty that the house shares with the two neighboring houses. The cabin is idyllically situated in the lee of small islands and is the perfect starting point for exploring the archipelago's countless islands, islets and reefs in either boat or kayak. Go exploring in the beautiful landscape on land or by water and enjoy the sunset on the jetty when you return.
It is easy to get to the cabin. You fly to Brønnøysund and travel on by boat to Gardsøya's quay, a stone's throw from the cabin. The distinctive natural area, just south of the Arctic Circle, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and you can get closer to both the natural heritage in the Vega World Heritage Center just 200 meters from the cabin.

Our names are Cato and Preben, and we're in our late 40s. We built our cabin Rorsundet three years ago and love the unique view and the very special expression the cabin gets from being built on stilts out in the water. Cato and his parents are originally from the Vega Islands, so we have a naturally strong connection to the area. The interior is something we've been particularly interested in, and it really reflects our taste and suits us. Preben is a chef and loves to play in the kitchen, so we've made sure to equip it with lots of different kitchen equipment.
With 6,500 islands around us, it's fantastic to paddle around the area, and kayaking is our number 1 activity. The cabin is also a perfect starting point for sailing, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, SUP, cycling and hiking trails, and it's also not far from the Vega Staircase, which takes you up 2000 steps to the top of Ravnfloget and gives you an impressive view of the sea and the islands below you. You can also go on a ferrata hike, go bird watching, follow the Stone Age trails and of course sail between Vega's many islands, islets and reefs.
