Our names are Cato and Preben and we're in our late 40s. We built our cabin Rorsundet in 2020 and love the unique view and the very special expression the cabin gets from being built on piles out in the water. Cato and his family are originally from the Vega Islands, so we have a naturally strong connection to the area. The interior is something we've been particularly interested in, and it really reflects our taste and suits us. Preben is a chef and loves to work in the kitchen, so we've made sure to equip it with lots of different kitchen equipment.
With 6,500 islands around us, it's fantastic to paddle around the area, and kayaking is our number one activity. The cabin is also a perfect starting point for sailing, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, SUP, cycling and hiking trails, and it's not far to Vegatrappa, which takes you 2,000 steps up to the top of Ravnfloget and gives you an impressive view of the sea and the islands below you. You can also go on a via ferrata tour, go bird watching, follow the Stone Age trails and, of course, sail between Vega's many islands, islets and reefs.
