Authentic experience full of nature and life

We are a family with three children. We love coming to Fur, which has a very special island atmosphere; there is beautiful nature and you get the feeling of a time warp where life is lived a little slower. The calmness comes over you already during the ferry ride, which only takes five minutes. I, Lone, have been coming to Fur all my life as my grandmother and grandfather had a summer house on the island. Much has remained unchanged over the decades on the island, while new cozy cafés, galleries and shops are popping up here and there.

For us, the summer house is a sanctuary, with time to play games, collect rocks, go for walks, read and eat good food. The best part of the house is sitting and enjoying the view from the terrace or living room, watching the wildlife and the changing seasons in nature.

When we are on Fur, we love to go for walks along the north coast close to the cottage. Especially at sunset time, it's really beautiful. Crabbing at the harbor and pancakes at café "Herrens Mark" are mandatory, at least according to our youngest daughter. A delicious lunch and good beer at Fur Bryghus is also recommended. The nature is varied and beautiful all over the island, but if we have to highlight some places, we can mention the Knudeklinterne, Færker Odde and the area at the top of the island at "Bette Jenses hyw".
