Biedermeier apartment from 1800s by Lake Mjøsa

Welcome to an apartment where history lives on in every detail. Here in the farm's main building, you will find carefully restored interiors from the second half of the 19th century, with bright Biedermeier colors and period wallpaper. Three-meter-high ceilings and large windows let in light and offer views of the garden, the countryside, and Lake Mjøsa.

The newly installed kitchen from 2024 has everything you need, and the master bedroom offers a bathtub and plenty of space. The second bedroom, dining room, and spacious living room all offer views of the countryside. In the living room, you will find sofas, books, board games, and a large wood-burning stove that provides warmth on cool evenings. You will have privacy but with the option of help if you need it, as the host lives in the apartment below.

The garden invites you to enjoy long summer evenings with several seating areas, a barbecue, and a fire pit. In the kitchen garden, you can harvest seasonal vegetables, fruits, and berries—all grown certified organic. The entire farm is run with respect for nature and traditions.

You are 800 meters from the swimming area at Mjøsa, where you pass the monumental burial mound Sveinhaugen from the 600s and Ringsaker Church from 1130. Visit Alf Prøysen's childhood home 4 km away, cycle to the cultural landscape on Helgøya, or take the historic paddle steamer Skibladner. Hamar, Lillehammer, and Gjøvik are all half an hour away.
