In the southern part of the island of Rügen, very close to the Hanseatic city of Stralsund, stands the historic manor house from the 16th century, which has been run by the Wellenberg family for over 20 years. After the house was completely left to decay in the last century, the family lovingly rebuilt it in cooperation with the preservation of historical monuments and created a place that attracts nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet from all over Germany.

There are a total of 7 vacation apartments on the upper floors of the mansion, as well as various rooms on the first floor that can be rented for both meetings and parties.

This beautiful vacation apartment is located on the second floor on the left side of the house and is ideal for smaller groups or families with a small child. Here you will find two bedrooms with double beds and two separate luxurious bathrooms. In the living room there is a cozy sitting area with a pull-out sofa, which when extended provides an additional sleeping place. The living room leads into the kitchen, where you will find a kitchenette and a large dining table. There is everything you could wish for during a longer stay, plus the large windows offer an unobstructed view of the seemingly boundless natural landscape that surrounds the house on all sides. In the garden there is a sun terrace and also the park where the mansion is located is a truly unique place with its proximity to the water on all four sides and the old trees.

Tourism Fee not included

A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you’re bringing your dog. The fee varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night and should be settled with the host upon arrival.

Highlights from Astrid

Host since March 2023

  • The open living and dining area with large dining table and adjacent seating area is modern and cozy at the same time
  • Manor house from the 16th century in absolute quiet location in the middle of a beautiful park with old trees.
  • The "Üselitzer Wiek", a sea bay in the south of Rügen, which is under nature protection, encloses the estate from all sides

We are Pete and Astrid and together with our four adult children we have been running this beautiful manor house on Rügen for 20 years. The house is a listed building and dates back to the 16th century, but in the 1960s it completely fell into ruin and we took it over in 1998. In the following years, the historic manor house was then rebuilt and renovated by us and with the support of the Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments and has been completely finished since 2018. The manor park that surrounds the house is also a listed building and belongs to the house with the fruit trees, some of which are a hundred years old, and the adjacent water landscape. Our family has created with much effort and love here a place for people who appreciate the space and nature and are very happy to welcome guests with us.

The whole environment is very atmospheric and you feel a few centuries back, but in a good sense. The landscape is picturesque and the park is well maintained. The house is minimalist but cozy and equipped with everything you could want in your time out from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
