Are you dreaming of an idyllic retreat far from the hustle and bustle of the city? Welcome to this charming log cabin by Skoddebergvannet lake in Tjeldsund. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet in scenic surroundings, with majestic mountains and warm pine forests as your nearest neighbors.
The log cabin is finely crafted with an interior design that gives it a warm and cozy feel. With an open solution between the kitchen and living room, and large windows that let in plenty of light, you'll really feel close to nature. The cabin has a loft furnished as an extra TV room, and a total of 6 good beds in 2 bedrooms and the loft.
Outside the cabin, you'll find a spacious patio where you can enjoy long summer evenings with family and friends. There is also a boathouse down by the water - perfect for lazy days swimming and sunbathing. There's also a small and cozy extra farmhouse next to the cabin, where you can sit right next to nature. The living room can also be used in winter, as it can be electrically heated. A great place to breathe after your hike, or as an extra living room with complete silence
The area around Skoddebergvannet offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities. Here you can take walks along the water, explore the terrain or go skiing in the winter. Don't forget to bring your fishing rod, because in Skoddebergvannet you can catch both trout and char! The cabin is a great starting point for summit hikes in the beautiful mountains around the lake, often 5 - 6 hour hikes to Nova or Revtinden, both at around 1200 m above sea level. If you want a quieter and shorter trip, Runddalen is a good alternative with its waterfalls (2 hours round trip). A trip to Kjølen, just behind the cabin, is also a great experience.
Ski in/ski out: Cross-country ski trails right outside the cabin.
Nearby ski resorts: approx. 37 min to Nedre fjellheisstasjon Narvik and approx. 45 min to Ankenes Alpinanlegg.

Highlights from Ivar
Host since August 2023
- Explore the majestic mountains and the sheltered pine forest around Skoddebergvannet
- Enjoy the warm, cozy interior of our finely crafted log cabin
- Relax in our spacious cabin patio or at our boathouse by the water
Hi, my name is Ivar. My wife Audhild and I use the cabin as our own little sanctuary. We love spending time here, surrounded by beautiful nature and close to Skoddeberg Lake. This is the place we go to when we need to recharge our batteries, and we hope that you will find as much joy in this place as we do!
There is a good parking lot at the cabin. But charging an electric car is unfortunately not possible here. The nearest charging point is Bjerkvik, approx. 20 km
Some hiking destinations that we recommend:
Old Sami settlement at the north end of Skoddebergvannet, approx. 7 km.
Grovfjord - a small, picturesque village with two modern boatyards, approx. 20 km.
Narvik Center with, among other things, Narvik War Museum, which tells all about the "Battle of Narvik 1940", approx. 36 km
Polar Park in Bardu, the world's northernmost zoo and home to the Nordic region's large predators and hoofed animals, approx. 55 km
In winter, there are cross-country skiing trails starting close by, taking you up into beautiful mountainous areas. Or you can simply walk along the water, partly on groomed trails
Alpine skiing: Narvik is an exciting skiing destination with Narvikfjellet (36 km), which is perhaps Scandinavia's finest of its kind, approved for international competitions. A less demanding alternative is Ankenes Alpinanlegg, also in Narvik. The national border with Sweden is also not far away (63 km) with its great alpine resorts.
