We are a family of two adults and a teenager. We have always traveled a lot, but now our favorite destination is our wonderful holiday home on the edge of Funen. The cottage is an old lady of over 100 years, originally built in the old fishing village of Skaboeshuse as a summer house for a wealthy family from Odense. Now it is our lovely spot where we enjoy the peace and quiet, the water, nature, long walks and good books.
We love the water at all times of the day and in all seasons. We kayak, winter swim, SUP and scuba dive. We take walks by the beach and head south or north depending on the wind direction and the sun. We turn large and small, find hollow stones and petrified rocks and get a good blast of wind. In the 'hinterland' of the cottage there are open spaces, old fences, large forests, grazing horses and the most wonderful sunsets.
Sometimes we take the bike and head north to the small villages along the coast, and along the way we like to shop at the local stalls for eggs, vegetables and honey.
We also often head to Kerteminde's cozy town center or on an excursion to the deserted island of Romsø in the middle of the Great Belt. We also often head for beautiful Svendborg and a sunny day on one of the small ferries around the South Funen Archipelago.
