In the south of Thuringia, where the Bavarian border is not far away and at the foothills of the Thuringian Forest, Hans-Karl's beautiful natural wooden house lies alone in a large garden, with a stream running along the property. Here you will find fruit trees where you can pick apples, an unobstructed view of the deep woods, and above all, one thing: peace and quiet.
Here you can sit in the garden, close your eyes, breathe in the clear forest air and really relax. The house is dominated by natural materials, wood, slate and clay and the stove in the living room makes it a really cozy retreat in the middle of nature. The floor-to-ceiling windows let the sunlight into the house and you have a wide view of the green landscape.
The house is both sustainably built and lovingly furnished with the essentials you need to have a peaceful vacation. If you want to explore the area, it's best to do it by bike or in hiking boots, because there are many bike and hiking trails through the beautiful forests.
Tourism Fee not included
A Tourism Fee is a mandatory fee that you have to pay when visiting certain tourism areas in Germany. The fee is not included in the price because it depends on where you stay, how many nights you stay, how old you are and if you’re bringing your dog. The fee usually varies between €0 and €4 per adult per night, but may be 5% in certain areas, such as Berlin. It should be settled with the host upon arrival.

The small stream that runs directly by the property
The large garden with its fruit trees, surrounded by woods
The fireplace stove in the living room, which provides extra coziness and warmth
I am Hans-Karl, I live in Berlin and spent my childhood in the garden on the Forelle River in Thuringia, at that time still on the inner-German border.
I designed and built the house myself and completed it in December '22. During construction, I paid particular attention to building sustainably and using natural materials. The building materials for the house come 95% from the immediate surroundings. For example, the house uses 50% green electricity, is insulated with wood fibers and careful waste separation is mandatory in this vacation home - for the sake of nature.
I am always happy to welcome guests to my nature house and to give them the opportunity to be surrounded by nature away from all the noise of the city.
For me it is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to work creatively in nature, to hike in the mountains from time to time, to watch the animals and to enjoy the fresh air. Have a good rest by the trout river. Best regards Hans-Karl
