Charming house in an old barn by the lighthouse

This house was originally the old barn at Høgstein lighthouse station and was built at the same time as the lighthouse keeper's residence from 1860, which is located next door. The barn has now been converted into a fully-fledged residential building, and the original charm of the old timber walls has been preserved, creating a very special atmosphere of tranquility. You will be completely undisturbed and at peace, unless you need any help. We live in the orange house next door and are ready to help.

The house has a cozy wood-burning stove in the living room, a kitchen, a bathroom with shower, and a bedroom on the second floor with a double bed and the option of an extra mattress on the floor. Here you have a fantastic view of the chickens and ducks by the pond, as well as the Sukkertoppen mountain in Ålesund. There is a TV and internet, as well as laundry facilities.

The house has exits to the east and south, where you can enjoy the sun while the farm's chickens and ducks stroll peacefully around. The large plot extends down to the sea, where sheep graze and create an idyllic atmosphere at the historic lighthouse station.

From the house, it is a short distance to wonderful nature experiences. You can explore the trail to Godøyfjellet, walk the coastal path to Alnes lighthouse, or simply enjoy the spectacular view of the sea and the bird island of Runde. For those who are particularly interested, it is also possible to participate in bird ringing and bird watching.

Despite the remote feeling, it is only 15 minutes to both Ålesund city center and the airport.
